We are a friendly local film society that welcomes anyone who enjoys going to the movies. In partnership with The Hunter Club in Bury St Edmunds, we screen twelve films from September to May each year.
We enjoy first-class projection facilities including an extra large screen for that BIG MOVIE effect! We have exclusive use of a bar, which opens at 6.30 pm, prior to film screenings which start at 7pm on Sundays.
All films are introduced by a member, perhaps discussing the stars, the director or the theme of the movie. And there may be a brief discussion afterwards, since we aim to add to everyone's knowledge about each film and how and why it was made. But don't panic; these are not stuffy, academic introductions and talks, simply people that love movies sharing their views!
Why not try us out? Come along to any film night for just £6! Or contact us to go on our e-mailing list to receive FREE film night reminders. We will not pass on your personal details to any other party.
Films are selected by our members, who are welcome to send suggestions to our Secretary Hilary Wallis at at any time. Suggestions are discussed by members of the General Committee which makes the final selection.
An email reminder is always sent to members a few days before the film date. And on the night we issue a free booklet with cast list, film credits and other nuggets of information from director quotes to surprising facts.
